I would like to buy a soprano saxophone...?!

Question: How much should I be willing to pay?

I'm 13 years old and a fairly good player.

I don't want it to break. I want nice quality.

I saw one at my local music store for about $600. Is that to cheap.

What is a good brand?

Thnx

;-)

Get Yamaha (I have a Yamaha Trombone and it is awesome)
If you want to know what a good price is then go to your local music store (Preferably Arts, or Andy's) they will tell you mor info

Rayburns are good. You could buy one through the school music program or at a mucis store. Good luck and have fun! =)

From experience, I wouldn't spend the money period. Very little music (even in jazz) includes a soprano saxophone. I've owned one for 15 years and I rarely use it. I've played over 200 different jazz charts and maybe 40 have had a soprano part. You would be better off getting a tenor or a clarinet as you could always be a tenor player, or there are more chances for clarinet parts for jazz band. I would say my soprano comes out of the closet for a week or two out of a year, and that is because I just want to play it.
