Guitar necks???!
Question: i noticed on some guitars on the neck they have these little white dots. And on other guitars they are large white squares on the neck????

They don't really matter too much, they just make it easier for guitarist to know where they are on the guitar neck. It doesn't matter if they're dots, squares, or lightning bolts, they all serve the same purpose and none is better than the other, although you may have a preference on which looks better.
Purely cosmetics, It think fret markers are even divisions of the fret board as in 1/2 1/3 1/4 1/5
