What do you mean by "mixed cds"? Would this be a custom karaoke disc compilation? If so, you have two choices. Have the discs created by a company like mycdg.com or make the discs yourself from your own karaoke disc collection and software like Power CD+G Burner.
You can use a vocal remover software but these can make mistakes and give mixed results. It is best to obtain the instrumental versions of the songs but if you cannot, you can use the software or any equalizer (preferably parametric). Vocals usually occupy the middle frequencies of the song so you can use the equalizer to turn down those frequencies thus removing the vocals. However, this might also have the undesirable effect of turning down other instruments in the song. Additionally, some of the vocals will still be audible if you turn up the volume.
