I was quite a bit like the movie, a few scenes from the broadway show were left out. Almost the full OBC were in the movie. I would love if they came out with the OBC on Broadway DVD. As for the summary you asked for, I would say it is a year in the life of friends trying to survive in the 90's in New York, dealing with realationships, drugs, and aids while struggeling to pay the rent.
