I'm Scottish and your question is a question that really cannot be answered. If someone can give a straight yes or no then I would note rate their opinion at all.Yes! some English ways/accents annoy me but same goes for Scottish, Welsh, Irish, American whatever. Within the world there are bad and good everywhere and being the mere mortals we are it's natural to let things get 'up your nose' but I think you must agree it is not something you can generalise on?
I wasn't going to get involved in this question until I saw the contribution regarding accents and ginger hair. WTF? I think you will find my friend that the affliction of the ginger gene is not restricted to my wonderful country. As for accents I do believe you will find fella that every country, in fact most counties have varied accents.

Well! why do the Canadians hate the Americans? because they are right next door have ten times the population and have more infuence in the world!
I think lately the Anti-English retoric has got a lot stronger becuase of Scottish nationalism, same with Wales. I think Alex Salmond has been playing the poor opressed Celts card, conviently forgetting all the times in history that Scotland invaded England! Just ask someone from York!
I think conviently forgetting just how "Great" Britain was, and all the things that the alliance between England and Scotland achieved is sad. Scotland and England founded the modern world together, we should focus on this!
Also to all the people that say its because England is a Teutonic country and Scotland is a Celtic country, stop being so ignorant!, an Oxford University DNA mapping project recently showed England is just as celtic as Scotland!
I don't mind rivalry but please consider that one million Scottish people live in England all welcomed by us, the Scottish should try and be as friendly.
I don't hate the English but it does annoy me when commentators rave about a sportsperson and when s/he is English he says English wo/man name etc but if s/he is Scots, Irish Welsh the person suddenly becomes British.
I think also you will find if you visit Scotland the people are very friendly towards the English.
However the culture is different and many Scots feel that as far as a lot of the English are concerned there is nothing north of Hadrians wall.

I always found it funny that they had to dub some of the dialogue in Gregorys Girl, listen to both versions on the DVD - very funny if you spot the changes.

I do however often object to the english attitide to the Scots - they are our overbearing neighbours, often forcing their will on us.
We are a very proud nation and deserve our own independence to be equals with the other nations in the UK
I hate people who hate others simply because of their nationality, skin colour, religion, or anything else of that nature.

I have to admit I do find some English accents annoying, but I also find some Scottish accents annoying. I never could get my head round Aberdonian.
Because we are bigger so they hate us and the welsh do so the welsh and scottish dont get attention so they whine!!!
Nobody annoy me more Bel B than somebody with a small mind. There are some Scottish accents I can't stand, especially those belonging to Jakie's, that speak nasally through their nose! For sure though there are annoying accents everywhere, not just England.
I don't hate or dislike anyone though just because of their accent. Just because of their dodgy attitude (if they have one).
