Try that bar near 7th and Main Streets. Get your foot in the door by saying you'll just work for tips. By this time in 2010, you'll be on MTV.
Do you mean being a "Director"? The performing industry is a b***h and INCREDIBLY hard to get into. Everybody that is trying to get into the industry thinks that it will be cake and ends up getting skrewed over by fake agents. If it's something you feel you need to do, though, go for it. However, if you're still in school...STAY IN SCHOOL! There's nothing worse than a throw-away musician who dropped out of school to make their "dream" come true and ended up working 2 jobs after they fell flat on their face. There's a one in a MILLION chance that you'll make it, and you need to have either "the look" or something that everybody seems to be lacking now adays...talent.

1. Put your act together. 2. Call some of the local restauraunts and coffeeshops and ask if they "feature" musicians. Tell them who you are and what you do. Don't try to make money yet; you want to get the exposure first. Perform for free at first then start charging as necessity arises if it does. You'll know you're on your way when they ask you to perform instead of you requesting the opportunity. There's no way to guarantee success; you do or you don't. Good luck.
