what kind of nights ?
network. go and chat to the djs at nights out swap numbers or whatever you feel is ok to do. Be confident.
start out djing at a local pub for free or cheap so you can get some kind of fan base then you have a platform to work with.
Get into the music you DJ then you can network easyly with the people you want link up with, other djs etc.
Ask around venues to see if they may want you? you never know
But if you get a gig dont rinse it out on the first night. My friend did this. He basicaly got a saturday night gig at a central resturaunt bar in Bristol.
On his first night he was djing well but he invited all his mates down even though they didnt realy fit with the venue. he chatted up the waitresses blatently and stayed till the very very end of the night, closing time and got all the free drinks he could. the manager wasnt impressed so he lost the gig.
I mean thats cool when youve been there for a while but maybe not the first night
