Selling tickets on ebay?!

Question: Yesterday tickets for 9 Billy Connolly shows sold out in an hour. Most of my friends and I had been trying to get tickets from the minute they went on sale but were unsuccessful. Now I see loads of people are selling them on ebay for about 5 times the price. Do you think it is fair that people can block book tickets and then sell them for huge profit on ebay? I personally dont think you should be able to charge more than what you paid for them. Its so unfair !!!

scarletmist.com

ethical way to get and sell sold out tickets

thats illegal

its is unfair, but thats the fact of earning money out of it

i do agree that its totally unfair but if u had the option to make a large amount of cash then u would take it wouldnt u?

Sometimes it backfires on them & they have to sell at a loss

I've purchased cheap tickets on ebay

I agree but the only way to stop it is not to buy but this wont happen

It is but you can't knock the hustle =)

I bet u buy em too...

Its unfair. But, who ever promised you life was fair lied to you.

Where is Billy Connelly show then? UK or US?

I totally agree, I thought eBay had put a stop on this type of selling. But I noticed that soon after the tickets for the Liverpool Sound at Anfield in June went on sale (I got mine at face value) some people were selling, even though tickets are not issued until late May, for over seven times the face value.
I think it's very wrong to do this to honest fans.

If you feel so strongly about this, do what was done to the sellers of LIVE8 tickets, just place ridiculously silly bids on items to sabotage the listing.

it is unfair, but the same thing happens when new video game systems come out....or anything really big. It's a way for people to make extra money....fair or not.

buy low sell high........ that's the basis of all business.

how much did the knickers, that you're wearing cost you?
how much do you think marks & sparks paid their suppliers for them?

If there is no demand on ebay, they will be put up again, for less.

***** I am all in favour of selling tickets on ebay *******

I have sold tickets on ebay for a loss (a couple of £ on £80 tickets) when I had tickets, but couldnt get to a gig.......... and I was glad that i got *some* money back, otherwise I'd have been £80 out of pocket.

I have also bought tickets on ebay, which would have been almost impossible for me to get any other way.

Selling tickets for a profit is called ticket scalping and that is illegal in the US.

it is unfair, but its still legal. people did that when the playstation 3 first came out. they bought one, and sold them on ebay for thousands! when they only bought them for 600 bucks...
