How can I advertise my band efficiently?!

No one is just going to "discover" you without you putting yourself out there. Network, talk to EVERYONE you meet, have cards if you need to with just your website on there, be friendly, book your own gigs, dude...you have to, play everywhere and try to wow even the smallest drunkest crowds. Basically let your talent ant reputation advertise for you.
The cheapest and easiest way to get free PR is grassroots marketing. Fans, be good to them talk to them, see if one of them would start a fan club or street team for you. In return get them into shows, just...put your heart in it and work hard. It'll take a while.
Get on as many sites as you can such as soundclick, garageband.com and any other sites you can find. There are tons. Network with other bands. See if you can open for people. Get a mailing list together and get ppl to sign it at your shows. Make sure your site has a guest book and add people to the mailing list who sign it. Find internet and radio shows that promote bands and submit your music. Have a press kit together to give newspapers, radio stations, etc. Record a demo or full length CD and send it to high school and college papers and get them to review it. Don't spam or do things that will turn people off to your group but always look for opportunities to promote yourself and try to play as much as you can.
MySpace! Its the only way these days. Don't put your trust in record labels until you've built a fan base online.
Well i was goingg to say the two things you already sed. But on myspace add make sure to add all your songs to your profile.You can also make a bebo page or bebo band page.
You can make business cards,flyers,If you can force somebody to let you perform at there venue, (LOL) that may lead to more gigs. =]
