Yes, arms down, back straight, legs all over. LOL Except for the dance called 'the siege of Ennis' then there is plenty of twirling about and grabbing hold of each other,etc etc. All great fun.

I was forced to learn Irish dancing in school, I was completely rubbish at it, but I still can impress with the basic steps to this day!! Catholic oppression, I nearly miss it, ha ha.

I thought it had something to do with the amount of Guinness that was imbibed. That way when one fell over, he/she wouldn't take anyone else with him. lol
