I saw a live interview with Carly about 3-4mos. ago where it looked like she was about to reveal who the mystery man was...she said "after all these years people are still asking who the song's about?"
She teased, "Ok fine, I wanna let everyone know that...he...is... never going to be revealed!" a huge let down for everyone in the room.
But the song's timing seems to line up with her relationship with James Taylor.
Apparentl it was about that really promiscuous actor - hang on I can't remember his name!
