What's the average price range for a guitar??!

Question: I am a 13 year old wanting to learn guitar. I need to buy one first, though, as i don't really want to rent one.
What's the average price for a new guitar, and a second hand one??? I dunno if i should get it new or used.

i bought a used samick electrick 6 string back when i was 13 for like 500$

i probly got ripped but id gladly sell the thing for 5$ now just to get rid of it
