Is the Brit awards really british? Why does urban music never feature?!
Question: 2 years ago there were complaints that the brit awards were full of american artists, which is fair enough - so they were ditched.
However, year after year the brits never seems to cover "urban" music (i.e. r'n'b, hip hop, rap, grime, garage, niche etc" ), who have artists that sometimes are outselling others that feature on the brits. (Remember when Craig David won nothing although his songs were rinsed out that year!!)
We constantly hear the same style of music - indie type stuff, as if thats all British people listen too. I know loads of people who hate that stuff and dont watch the brits because we know thats all they are going to play - even RnB artist Rhianna performed in grunge style.
Isnt it time the brit awards really reflected the musical talent in britain and showed appreciation to other genres of music that the people of britain love?

The brit awards are rubbish. Its not about the awards, its just a money making gimmick. I agree with you, and i beleive that they are biased. I realised this when one year they conveniently had a new 'best rock group' category when the darkness were at they're height. It was obvious that they had made it just for them.

Its all a con.The Brits are the Brittania Music Awards.They are the people who sell albums via a postal catalogue.They dont care about the music only the profits!You know the deal pay for one album and get 4 free then pay for an album every month for a 12 month contract!
I so agree with you. I was watching the other night and got bored after a while because it was all international this and international that. I got fed up and watched Grand Designs instead.
I may be wrong, but dont the MOBO awards do all the r'n'b, rap, hip hop etc? Im sure that the MOBO (music of black origin) has all that sort of music in it, so it has its own seperate awards.
I do agree that the brit awards is crap though!
maybe they only feature music that people pay for because ponces like you download all your music
