80's party?!

Question: I am having an 80's themed party for my 19th birthday, I am hiring a room and having a jukebox with Kareoke, I am pretty limited with food as the place does platters. What kind of decorations/invitations/costumes should I have...

thanks in advance

Decorations:

Cute out big black circles and put smaller fluro circles in the middle and write names of famous 80's bands on the fluro part so they look like records. (You could also do this as invited - do u have any nerdy cousins or anything who could help u design ur invites?) Slinky's were big in the 80's. U could buy them from the 2 dollar shop and hang them around like streamers. Have all ur balloons and streamers fluro. See if u can get old movie poster off Ebay - or better yet ask ur friends parents if they have any stashed in the shed. Who knows.

Dress is easy. Leg warmers, frilly skirts and big hair. Or think of an awesome movie from the 80's and follow suit - Tom Cruise in Risky business (him in a white shirt, tidy whites' and socks) Pretty in pink, Flash Dance and dare I say it ..... Foot Loose

Ask ur friends parents. They lived in the 80's. Im sure they can help.

All the best. Have a great Party!

P.S Can I come - sounds fun!

I'm still in the 80's lol....definately have BIG HAIR. The 80's was full of hair bands. You could have a Michael Jackson glitter glove for invites? Feather hairbands, rock t's, faded jeans, leather jackets, Fast Trans-Am's, Silver Eagle Necklaces, Vinyl records, Pacman, Space Invaders, The Breakfast Club, Bob n Doug Mckenzie - hosers), Valley Girls, Leg Warmers, Nancy Drew & The Hardy Boys books, the phrase "Gnarly", Toe Socks, Crimped Hair, Fraggle Rock, Bubblicious Gum, Wax Lips, Jelly Shoes, Scratch n Sniff Stickers, The Lost Boys, Fast Times At Ridgemount High; Max Headroom, The Moon Walk Dance, & Break Dancing are all 80's stuff.
