What is the deal with Linkin Park's Shadow of the Day?!

firstly, My December was an old, soft song too.
secondly, Linkin Park wants to do something different instead of what they've already done before. i do not blame them. I imagine screaming doesn't really fit with SOTD's theme either. Maybe you should be taking a look at In Pieces, No More Sorrow, Given Up, or Qwerty instead.
And just because a group has gone soft does not mean they've gotten bad, unless you have a shallow taste in music and put down any soft song no matter how well it was crafted.
That's what the public wants now...I was def surprised too.
They simply grew up..
if you look at many other bands, they always starts off with songs about falling in love, broken hearts, hating love and stuff like that. its all about the girls
as the gets more mature, they start writing songs for other things rather than just relationship turned sour. It happens to every band
At least it did for Yellowcard, The Ataris, Blink 182, and many other bands.
Gone are the days where LP use to write anger ridden songs
