Can anything be done to stop this company overcharging like this?!
Question: I happily paid ￡40 for tickets last w/end as a treat for the family but I drew the line at paying their vastly inflated prices for sweets and popcorn.seems like I am not the only one

If they used their heads and cut their prices, they may get a few more people to use their facility. As it is , who can afford it?

Yes. Just don't buy it. In the end if nobody buys it they'll get the message and reduce their prices or go out of business.
had a look and i agree its a rip off, however, get ur wife to bring an oversized handbag and fill it to her hearts content. they rip us off we do it right back.
they cant actually confiscate anything becuase its a handbag and i dont think they can search it
They're in it for the 'profit' bud, irrespective of the 'volume' of trade!......
Tinow is right here, ONLY Police Officers have the right to search people and only then, if they have reasonable suspicion.
So remember EVERYONE, Store Detectives, Security Guards, Community Officers, Traffic Wardens, Carpark Attendents etc DO NOT HAVE THE POWER TO SEARCH YOU, YOUR BELONGINGS OR YOUR VEHICLE. You can refuse.
I think the publicity alone will ensure they lose custom - don't worry - they will be stopped when we stop going
Well people could try complaining to trading standards. The concessions are a choice and not the main function of the building (IE it is not a restaurant) therefore it might just class as profiteering if cinemas are seen to be charging excessively high prices for similar products available on the high street.
They may also fall foul of restrictive trade practises.
