Is this a good choice for a guitar?!
Question: I am getting my boyfriend a guitar for Valentine's Day. I think that an acoustic six string is the best for a beginner. I have found a 34" regular acoustic six string. Is this a good choice?

the main thing you want to consider i think that is that you get him a hard top. I don't know about that 34" thing but you should get a normal size so that he can practice on a normal size. but to me the most important things about a guitar is the sound and the way it plays. but for a beginner that doesn't really matter that much.
But, i would still try to get the hardtop because hardtops get better with age and so their resale value is better.
But you're looking at spending alot more.
for acoustic guitars fender is not one of the best, but you will still pay for the fender brand so i would stay away from fender for acoustic guitars. more money for less good.
for electric guitars that's another story and fender's one of the best.

Fender is one of the best but any guitar as long as its not cheap made would be good for a begginer

Well personally i would always say an acoustic guitar... but if you are a rocker...well its obvious that the electric is the only way to go. I would recommend my guitar brand of choice but i think you need to stick to you budget and stay close to some low end fenders/ epi's until you get good and can appreciate your own sound after you find it.

Get him an Epiphone acoustic, they're relatively cheap and not too crappy.

They all carry low priced beginner's guitars. If you have a Guitar Center store near you, they also carry used instruments at a pretty good discount.
