Why does the entertainment industry take itself so seriously when it's not?!

Question: No offense but Hollywood isn't rocket science. It attempts to be "'art," and it's mostly money. So then why do people in this industry feel so important, god's-gift, and think they rule the world, when ALL they do is do marketing, music, fashion and movies? (well porn too)

I mean they are NOT NASA, they aren't the govt, they arent part of many things, yet these deluded people think they're the ****.

Honestly, that's fine to me, I mean you're entitled to feel good about yourself but these people take it SOOOO seriously.

OMG OMG u gotta look young, you have to be a size 0, u gotta be this u gotta be that.

LOL!

WHo freaking cares?

Okay so even if you do become famous are a size 0, made some movies or are a famous actor, director, etc, and get everything,

there are still 10000000 other more SERIOUS industries out there such as health care.

So why do these people especially in California have this superiority complex when theyre not? (they really arent, srsly)

I think a lot of it is the moral values of society. I feel the same way about probation officers. These men and women put their lives on the line everyday dealing with violent individuals, not to mention having to go to their homes. However, they are overworked and highly underpaid. I truly think it is sad how society puts more emphasis on beauty and fortune instead of where it belongs. I totally agree with you, but you must remember that the rich and the famous rule. I do not think it has anything to do with intelligence or anything of that sort, instead it is all about who has the power and we all are aware that money is power. Hollywood has learned how to take advantage of the media. If it were not for the media, the actors and actresses would not be as rich as they are. The media adds glamour to their lives. Believe me when I say that Britney Spears is not the only famous person who is unhappy with her life, which goes to show that money cannot buy happiness. They are rich and becoming richer. You see constantly on the talk shows, how normal everyday people are spending their mortgage money in order to live above their means, trying to live like Hollywood. The actors and actresses are cashing in on such ignorant individuals. Many actresses and actors such as Jessica Simpson are starting clotheslines for people who will buy their garments just because their name is on the garments. You had better believe that they would never get my hard-earned money. Thank you for mentioning this topic. I totally agree with you and it has been good to be able to share my point of view.

Hollywood spends so much time on circlejerks and self-flaggelation that it occasionally needs to be wanged in the proverbial ding-dong.

They think fame and money equals intelligence.

We are talking about human beings doing what they seemingly do best- attempting to give trivial things far much more importance than they deserve or warrant. Sports is even more ludicrous.i am at the point in my personal development where a breeze can carry me to far more interesting places, all with the power of my imagination; and Martin Scorcese, Steven Spielberg, and others can NEVER touch that.

What gets me is they are treated like Gods by the law. I mean, two hours in jail for DUI? If it was a joe blow like you or me, they would lock us up and lose the key.Makes me sick to my stomach.

The last major export that America does is Hollywood films.

The Wal-mart mentality and mind-set has yet to outsource Californian movie-making. When the family-values crowd insists the consumers will benefit if we only import Bollywood quality entertainment, then you will know that Latin America includes the whole of the Western Hemisphere.

Seriously.
