Filipino debut (like a quincinera)?!
Question: okay so im 15 turning 16 this year. and im already planning my debut. if you dont know what that is, google it. its similar to a quincinera, except its when filipino girls turn 18. YEAH I KNOW I HAVE A LOT OF TIME. haha its really early, but im so excited! my cousin just had hers and it was so beautiful. i want just the same! i talked to my parents and they told me i can have one, with the budget of $20,000 because they said they would get me a car too. (BTW IM GETTING A LEXUS! YAY!!) so anyone who had a debut or quince, how much did yours cost? i want to know if my budget is anywhere the average.
AND IF YOU KNOW ANY GOOD WALTZ OR CHACHA SONGS FOR MY COTILLION.
and sweet/slow songs or instrumentals for my slideshow (showing pics of when i was a baby until 18).

if your going to have your party in the Philippines, that is way WAY too much. but if it'll be in the US, let's just say, a lil too much. most of the budget will go to the party place (like hotels,ball reception, etc.) and to the the catering arrangements. it's best to avail a package for these if they're available could save you some money for other things that you would like to add to your party to make it more grand. anyway, aside from the ball or "cotillion": i've noticed that "18 roses and 18 candles" thing is also in the tradition. 18 roses will be guys and 18 candles will be from the girls. all of these people will give their speech. sort of like, a message for you. btw, please practice the cotillion/ball part too. It'll be pretty bad if the dancers will mess up. and i think picking up a theme would be nice too, like medieval, fantasy, or whatever you like (or at lease just limit it to the reception) and don't forget the souvenirs for the guests too!
well, about the songs... i dunno much... i don't remember chacha for the cotillion from the parties ive attended. they just usually stick to waltz for the cotillion. maybe watching disney fairy tales will give you a great idea about the cotillion part. and about the slide show, i think it would be best to pick a song about growing up. or just record your voice/speech about growing up while matching the content of what you are saying to the slide showed, with soft music of course.

personally ask someone artistic and creative to help you out. like a party-planner material

i think that its to much especially if your getting a LEXUS too!! thats gonna be one expensive birthday. u must be rich... cuz my parents would never get me a lexus AND a 20,000 party. and no im not poor im jus not spoiled.
