How do calculators work and give us the answers so fast?!


Question: Electrons move very fast. Essentially, they are going through circuits and "gates". Think of it like dominoes falling over, only at the speed of electons. There's not really any decision making being done, the circuitry is going to make the electron go to the right or left, based upon other previously made decisions by other circuits, etc. It's just a matter of the electrons finding their way through the maze of circuits.

microprocessors that have millions of transistors & other solid state devices in it....the more the mircroprocessors have such transistors the more powerful it gets & the more energy(battery power) it needs...
