Does a bass work with a regualar guitar amp?!

Question: I am getting an electric bass and an electric guitar. I was wondering if I would need a seperate amp because im not sure if a bass would work the same way with a guitar amp as it would with a bass amp. Thanks.

Depends on the kind of sound you're willing to compromise with. Basses may not sound as good through a guitar amp and vice versa, but don't forget one of the greatest amp I ever played guitar through was a '59 Fender Bassman, LOL!!!

Just make sure you have enough power and decent sized speakers (12" is a good compromise) to handle both bass and guitar. Good luck, hope this helps!!!

yeah, but it won't support the sound, the bass will come out sounding tinny.

Mine does :-)

Not a great idea, you can damage the amp as it's not meant for those frequencies so be careful. On the other hand, guitars sound pretty great through bass amps and pose no risk.

yes it does
