Well that is a good question I play clarinet and I rented mine but they are $600-$1000 I would rent to own it is renting for two years and you pay the clarinet with the rent money so then you keep the clarient. And good chose of clarinet

Check music stores that repair instruments. If you look around you can probably find a good used student instrument (like a Bundy) for around $200.00 - there are a lot out there
