Question: i have a epi les paul cutsom i dont no what size to put on. i play 70s rock,80s metal,and some modern what size do i get?

For the guitar you have and the styles of music you play I would stick with light strings - .008's or .009s.
I generally play heavier gauge strings on my electrics because it gives a meatier tone but on my les paul the wound strings just sound too muddy if they are too thick. I use .010's on my paul.

Nickle plated will give you a softer sound.Wound will give you a harder sound.
