Jack Nicholson- Johnny Depp-Denzel - there many more good ones too....
Yeah I agree with Denzel and I also like Johnny Depp - his characters are always different and yet still believable.
I think Johnny Depp and Sean Penn are the best actors of our time. The roles they play are so diverse from their previous works.
denzel, tom hanks (from Forrest Gump/Philadelphia), Russell Crowe. i liked Will Smith in Pursuit of Happiness too.
Johnny Depp. He has had so many different roles in totally different movies. I love how he can pull them off so well.

so many choices---I have seen a lot of people who started out in stand-up comedy who are outstanding actors---Steve Martin in "Leap of Faith", Robin Williams in several movies, Bill Murray
Johnny Depp is awesome, Nicholson is also quite good.
but the most talented actor I've seen is an actress---Jean Stapleton. She played Edith Bunker (Dingbat) in the ground-breaking "ALL In The Family" during the early 70's, and when Travolta was being an angel in "Michael" she was incredible---I have seen her in a dozen different movies and she always looks and acts different. You just don't know who she is for a long time---she really gets into her role.
There are lots of great actors, actresses, but the best ones to me are the ones who you don't recognize for the first 10 minutes they are onscreen. kudos to henry winkler in Holes and many awesome supporting actors, but Jean Stapleton, to me, is the best I've seen, and I've spent some time onstage myself. She rocks.
