What's a good singer/group that the average person will miss out on?!
Question: Me, I REALLY like Big Mama, a pop/R & B female quartet from Korea. They sing in both Korean and English and they have wonderful voices. I LOVE their rendition of "His Eye Is On The Sparrow."

Vampire Weekend - Alt/eclectic group
Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings - Old-style R&B group
Pizzicato Five - Quirky Japanese dance/alt group
Okkervill River - 80s retro rock band (sorta)
Xavier Naidoo & Sohne Mannheims (umlaut on the last "o") - Naidoo has done some solo work and also is part of SM. Very strong and emotive hip-hop/pop group.
Heiruspecs - Rap group out of St. Paul, MN. I'm not a huge fan of current rap, but I really like these guys.
Hund am Strand - German alt/rock group. I especially love their song "Jungen Madchen" (umlaut on "a") for singing "yeeeeah yeeeeah" in a way that cracks up my husband.
I could probably come up with more, but these are just off the top of my head.
The Verve
I don't know any we are missing out on now, but back in the day I know people did miss out on Siedah Garrett. She was the person who sany with Michael Jackson on his song "I Just Can't Stop Lovin' You" off his Bad album. She was one of Quincy Jones's 'discoveries', but they don't seem to do well.

Lostprophetrs. Not a lot of people have heard of them, and those that heard their single just think they are a one hit wonder. Their album is awesome though.
