Where would i look on the web to find out if a local band has a web-site???!

Well, they are not on myspace, as i have just looked for you.
Have a look for them on bebo, facebook, netlog, all those things...
Also, try places websites of which they have giged....
If they have been on tv with bbc for instance, look on bbcs webpage

although a stereotype, look through myspace. if they have a page, they would have links within their Myspace page. That site was built on music artists putting there names out there.
check myspace, almost all bands have a myspace profile where it will have information on them, tour dates and possibly it would have a link to their actual website.
You can go to the advanced search features on Google and put Illinois in the "without the words" box to help eliminate any pubs in Chicago, Illinois. Otherwise, you may have to add other words that are more specific to the band such as song titles, band members, etc. to help the search program find exactly what you're looking for.
Generally, if they have a webpage that has the band's name in the domain name, it should come up in the first few pages of the search results.
