Is it illegal to charge more than retail price for a book?!
Question: If the retail price is printed on the back cover of a book from the publisher, is it illegal for a store to charge more than that? I've seen a few stores do this, and didn't know if they could actually get away with it.

No - the store can do what they like. But you can always vote with your feet and go to another store.
They can put their own price on, but can't force you to buy it.
no, that's why they call it a "suggested" retail price.
who would buy it? if you are stupid enough to buy it, you deserve to be charged more.
