Writers strike - what's the deal with Jay Leno ?!
Question: I don't get it - isn't Jay a stand-up comedian ? Don't they write their own material anyway ? Or would he be in some type of legal bind if he used any type of prepared material ?

Today's news clarifies this issue. Yes, he is a comedian and a writer. However, as long as the writers' strike is going on, he, as a member of the Writers Guild himself, is forbidden to write material for the show because that makes him a "scab". It's like he is crossing the picket line by writing.
i.e. It's the same as if one of the striking writers decided to cross the picket line and write for the show, undermining his compatriots' efforts.
is jay leno really a comedian?? Does doing the doritos comercials and a horrible B class movie with Pat morita make you funny?? He sucks... If i had his writers you would think im hilarious.....
