Why are people hating LEON for winning? GO SCOTLAND?!
Question: Exactly....engerland is alot bigger than Scotland (London is has more people than the entire country) however Same Difference still came last!!!
I am delighted that Leon won for a variety of reasons (one being that I live in Scotland). He didn't win because Scotland got behind him....look at the McDonald Bros. He won because he was better than the rest.

Its people like you that let a winner get 2nd place. Scotland is bigger, hence more votes... why should a guy lose out on winning because his hometowns population is less?

I know! I personally preferred Rhydian, but we all voted for Leon here, 'cos Rhydian will do fine now on his own, and Leon deserves a break. He and his mum have now got a fantastic life ahead of them - what a change from struggling with nothing. Good luck to the lad!
Because nationalism is sadly the be-all and end-all of everything. The accusation that people voted for him due to nationality is practically confirmed with all the scottish emblems and flags plastered over the support boards and fans in the Leon Camp.
It's becoming a bigger and bigger farce each year anyway. OTT sob stories, domination of the money-hungry, feuds between the judges and the declining comic value of the bad auditions are un-doing this show and others of its kind.
I am English but I am so glad Leon won he deserves it so much it may sound sad but I actually cried for joy with him
EXACTLY Leon was just as deserving as Rhydian.. who is obviously going to make it and he has been trained previously for 5 years in singing unlike Leon who only started in January this year. And anyway Lame Difference could have won but they didn't and they have a bigger population than Wales and Scotland combined. It isn't all down to numbers.
I don't hate Leon for winning, I wish him every success in his career even. Country shouldn't enter into it! I have no Welsh blood but both Scottish and English and I couldn't really care less who won!!!!
I hate though the farce they called a 'talent' competition. The way the judges were talking to Rhydian after his performance, It was obvious before the lines had even supposedly closed that he had lost! Yet he sang fantastically and Leon stumbled through the first verse and hit several bum notes!!!They did it 2 years ago to Andy and they did it this year to Rhydian! They don't want a talented singer they want yet another POP act!
As far as I can see they might just as well go back to calling it Pop Idol! and keep it a competition between obvious Pop singers!
Rhydian will still be singing and making lots of money from doing so when people are asking Leon WHO?
I'll bet that the company offering the record contract is secretly sick and sorry that Rhydian did not win. Quite honestly I could hardly hear a word Leon was singing but Rhydian was clear as a bell, and I endorse what somebody said above, that Rhydian will still be singing when Leon is forgotten. Leon struck several wrong notes and did so also last week. Singers like him abound and among them there is the same difference.
