In harry potter is Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy good parents?!

Question: explain your answer

Answers: explain your answer

Finally, a question I can answer easily!

Anyway, at first, it's a definite no. But then, specially during the last books, we really get to see how much the Malfoy's all care for each other. So in the end, I think yes they are. Like at the end of DH, when Cissy asks Harry if Draco is still alive. If she was like all the other DE's, and therefore not a good parent, then she wouldn't ever do that, and would have just killed Harry.

And, since we have this discussion almost everyday (lol XD), I'll bring it up again tomorrow, and we can have a nice long debate about whether we would prefer to be Malfoys or Weasleys!

P.S. Here's a nice pic for you, since you're such a wonderful friend (haha!)

Malfoys bully behavior would imply that they are not good parents...but in the last book, Narcissa's behavior was really caring and mothering, and in the end, all Lucius cared about was his sons safety. So while they were serving Voldemont, they were probably not good parents, not because they didn't care, but because they had other things on their mind. :)

um, only if u think of serving the "Dark Lord" as a family bonding experience...

They've definitely made bad decisions. Obviously, being part of the Death Eaters put all of them in danger. That, and their son was a bit of a spoiled brat. However, they did care for their son, and towards the end of the sixth book and the beginning of the seventh, I think they began to realize the full extent of their mistakes and tried to deal with them as best they could.

So, in sum, no, they weren't really good parents, but I think they at least realized what they were doing and tried to change.
