According to the legend John Denver asked any Jehovah Witnesses in the Tonight Show audience to leave. He sang his song, and sat to chat with Johnny Carson afterwards. Carson then proceeds to tell Denver that his camera operator and the lighting guys are J.W. and that Denver should get out!!!
But this is a legend!!!
