Gatecrasher - Sheffield?!
Question: I was wondering if anyone could help, I am not from Sheffield so am a bit confused! I realise that the Gatecrasher night club burnt down earlier in the year, but I have googled it and apparently there is a night club called 'The Republic' that is now run as Gatecrasher One - is this true? If not, does The Republic still exist? Or is there another club that Gatecrasher has moved to???? We're fed up of going to Embrace but don't like house and trance music which is what seems to be in most other clubs, so any suggestions as to another good dance night club would be useful!

Yes Gatecrasher is alive and well. The Republic is a very popular nightclub in Sheff and is well known. The gatecrasher night is fab especially New Years Eve!!! Enjoy

Just read Gina's answer...Republic is still like it used to be most of the time. Take it from a trues Sheff born and bred, Gatecrasher kicks *** and Republic is still great!
i used to live in Sheffield and The Republic was around for years until it was bought by and turned into Gatecrasher One. I dont know whats happened to it since it burnt down but i doubt it would be The Republic again. last time i went there it was playing britney spears and charlotte church and was actually a terrible night anyway.
try what used to be upstairs at ponanahs, opposite the empire bar but round the back and up the stairs, they used to have some awesom dance nights
