What do you think of this name for my new band?: The Cult?!
Question: What kind of image does it give you for a band?
We see ourselves as sort of cutting-edge new rock. We're influenced by bands such as Green Day, Sum 41, and believe it or not, classical, jazz, and even salsa.
I'm sure somewhere in the world someone's using/used this name before, but if we make it big, we'll just legally take over the name like some bands have to do.
I like it because it's simple, and it sort of gives that "band" feeling, with a bit of mystery to it.
Of course none of us are religious fanatics.

You are a little late with that name. It is probably already copyrighted somewhere. You've never heard of The Cult before? Nice idea, but it's already been used.
You play music and you've never heard of the cult? You will be laughed at. google "the cult" she sells sanctuary, ring any bells?
Its been used before; very successfully, try googling "the Cult" and see what comes up.
Sorry, I don't like the name. Cult leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
