I have a fender 15r frontman guitar amp. I love the tone but it has way too much!

Question: Is there any way to fix it without buying anything?

Answers: Is there any way to fix it without buying anything?

It could be the guitar, controls on the amp or even something as simple as the cord. Narrow down what is causing the static and fix it. Try your guitar on another amp, then try another guitar on yours. Next spray some electrical contact cleaner on the pots of your guitar and the amp. DO NOT USE WD40....go to Radio Shack and get the right cleaner. The easiest thing you can do, is to buy a new cord.

Are you sure its the amp. If youre playing with single coil pickups, they hum and hiss.

if the static is while you turn up or down the volume controls, it needs a special lubricant. do not just put any lubricant, it will kill it. your local music store should have it. if it has nothing to do with the dials turining, then it is most likely a broken reverb box or a broken cable.
