Who thinks American music stinks?!
Question: I just don't find the American music scene very interesting. I love listening to Italian, British, Finland, and other countries pop/rock music, but the American pop/rock just sucks, and it's not any good. Also, the proliferation of rap/hip hop, which I hate. Who else agrees?

I have to agree we (America) are going through a bit of a dry spell in original music right now. There are few hip hop, rap or pop songs that show any true originality.
However, a blanket statement that American music stinks is a bit out of line. I enjoy music from all over the world. It just depends on your particular music tastes and is a very individual choice.

Yeah, I hat it too. but because it's so marketed, proccessed, and dolled up. They selll the singer more than the song.

Our music is much more than hip hop and rap. The history of our music is the Best when you count in stars like Elvis and Frank Sinatra
music is one of the main motivations in life. and i happen to like all of it.except rap and hip hop.

I don't. I love American music, except country it makes me sad when I listen to it.
The best rock bands come from other countries anyway. Rap and hip hop is only good music for the club and jsut about any chick out there can lip-sing here in the US. Then there is true American music like country music which is more like pop and rock combined and just about the only thing that makes it country is the belt buckle they wear. Yeah, American music sucks.

I hate rap too.
I think likewise, rap hip hop I detest, these music are created by frustrated people. I love country music and old rock n roll. Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Don Williams are some.
