Need info on 2 guitars...anybody?!
Question: I'm considering buying either a Dean Evo XM or an Epiphone Les Paul Special II. This guitar will be Christmas present for my nephew, who is just learning to play, so I don't plan on buying him something exensive...his mom and dad can do that!
Anybody got a review for:

i worked in a music store in college, (million years ago)
the epiphone products all played well, some needed a bit of set up before we put them out on the sales floor,
-action too high
-bridge too high or low
make sure to take a knowledgeable person with you to play any guitars you might consider. they may all look alike, but some will play/feel better.
