Been watching the new series of Stargate: Atlantis...?!

Question: Having watched the first two episodes of the fourth series and only sporadic episodes of the other series, i'm still playing catch-up:-
Now there's a new doctor (Dr.keller), where did she come from and what happened to Dr. Beckett?
There's also a new ship the Apollo - what happened to the Daedalus?

Dr. Keller was introduced in the end of season (series) three and is replacing Dr. Beckett as head medical doctor. Dr. Beckett is unfortunately (well,if you were a fan of the character) R.I.P. He was killed in an explosion in the episode Sunday (season/series three,I think episode number 17). However, somehow he will be back near the end of season/series four (don't remember what episodes,he'll be in two of them, try gateworld.net). Speculations are that he'll come back as a flashback, alternate reality, alternate timeline, alternate universe,nightmare/vision,or even as a clone! (Some people think that he Ascended, actually). None of this has been confirmed though.
The Apollo. Well, the actor that plays Col. Caldwell (the bald dude who's about fiftyish I guess) was working on another show and it was getting really hard for him to find time to be on Atlantis. However the writers/producers/directors didn't want to kill that character off (or make the Daedalus explode, etc.) so they added a new ship and its commander-the Apollo and Col. Ellis (who, coincidentally,is also bald). Hope that helps! Enjoy!

dr beckett died but i heard he might come back like 4 times.
