Death metal talks about murder, the devil, killing christains and just plain f**** u.

Just offer your advice when it's needed and be a positive influence. You can't force him/her to change. buy him a death metal cd and go read a book about the correlation between friendship and tolerance. In what way do you want to help them?
You can't force someone to believe in a God if they don't want to. And if they want to,they'll find their own way.
And what's wrong with listening to death metal?
It's just music. Everyone has different tastes. Maybe it's time to accept that not only can't you change the world, neither can you force your views on someone else. If he's happy, who are you to say he's not? There are no guarantees about an afterlife... you have no assurances your way is the "best" or "right" way. Your way is the "best" way for YOU. If you're out to convert the world, no one wants to be bothered. We're allowed our own opinions, beliefs and paths towards happiness. Are you sure that he wants somebody to help him? He has chosen his way and you should not interfere his lifestyle. I don't think that he hates GOD, he might not believe in religion, but he does not hate. Let him live his life they way he wants and accept him as he is. Your friend doesn't appear to have a problem. Death metal is just music. God is an insidious construct of the superstitious. Wake up. There's a difference between "helping" and "preaching"
