How do clowns register their make-up/faces?!

How do clowns register their make-up/faces?

I'm sure I read somewhere that clowns have to paint their makeup/face onto an egg shell in order to register their unique appearance, and that all the egg shells are stored in a clown museum somewhere, is this true or have I gone mad?

I heard this too.... Quite some time ago though. But you just jogged my memory. Good question and I'm keeping an eye on your answers. I'm sure the clown faces have some sort of copyright. But the painting on eggs might be a myth !! Hope not, sounds like something we want to believe is true !!
