Jimmy retired his beloved albertrose I know he invested a ton of money into it. I also heard Seagrams paid one million bucks to paint it with the MV tequlia and the next thing I knew it is sitting outside the first Margaritaville resturant in Fl.

Probably because it's simply getting old (the airframe). Also, it's probably getting difficult to get parts and an Albatross needs constant maintenance.
He also has so much money that he can run turbines or jet for quicker and more reliable/comfortable flight.
