Im going to manage a relatives band they are good what do i need to do to help them im an accountant so busine

Be prepared to spend alot of time if you decide to do this. There is alot more involved than just the "business" aspect. You have to go out to different bars and clubs and convince them to book your band. You have to set up the dates, post the flyers, be sure it makes it into entertainment listings, deal with disagreements within the band (it will eventually happen), you need to be at most of their gigs. Negotiate compensation where the band plays (set fee, cut of the door, etc.) be sure to figure out if they get free drinks in addition to their pay or if the drinks are taken out of it. Be responsible for equipment. Be responsible for getting their music etc. on Myspace and other medium. Send Demos. Convince band to get money to do demo.
As I said it really is alot of work. A friend of mine is a manager for a local band (friends of ours), She does all of the above in addition to a full time job. She has hardly anytime. Also realize you probably won't get paid, if you do it'll be a small amount.
