What brand of guitar strings would be most suitable for a baritone guitar?!

Question:

What brand of guitar strings would be most suitable for a baritone guitar?

Answers:

You didn't specify whether the guitar is acoustic or electric. This answer pertains to electrics. Gibson is a great brand of string! Being wound tightly, if you play fast stuff, the slap-back of the string is instantaneous and tight. They also last quite a while. If this is a true baritone guitar, it has a longer scale length limiting your choice of strings. I've experienced in my shop that most standard electric guitar strings aren't long enough for a true baritone guiar. If that's the case, you may have to buy Fender's strings made specifically for a baritone or "bajo sexto". GHS will put together custom sets with whatever guages you want and their strings are wound nice and tight and are a bit longer than necessary for standard electrics and they last a while too. You will have to buy a minimum of ten sets. They run a close second to Gibson's quality in my mind. If it is an acoustic, there shouldn't be much of an issue. Most acoustic guitar strings are made WAY longer than they need to be. Hope this helped. Enjoy.
