I worked as a DJ in Phoenix and the rates were drastically different from place to place.
If you want to make a lot of money, you've got to become a mobile DJ and book the gigs and have all the lighting, music, and gear.
If you are looking to just DJ at clubs and stuff where you just show up with your headphones, ipod, and case of records and cds, you are going to make less but there are some good perks.
I would say you can expect easily 150+ per hour if you are a mobile DJ and somewhere between $20-$35 per hour in a club unless you are well known.
If you are well known, though, you are going to have club owners all time time trying to steal from you, so you need to get someone at the door making sure you are getting the cover or whatever.
