I'm sorry but what does staying in a room by yourself with no other inmates bothering you make you have a mental breakdown? You can read, have access to a radio and maybe a tv for a limited time. And a month and a half of jailtime is really a big break.

She didn't need to have a nervous breakdown to be eligible for home custody. Anyone who isn't a flight risk, or a threat to the community is eligible to opt for home custody. Do you think because Paris is rich, that she shouldn't have the same options that ANYONE ELSE who got jail time has?
She's not getting special treatment, she is getting the same as anyone willing to spend the 15 or 25 dollars a day to have that bracelet on would have.
Denying her that opportunity would be a great injustice. Giving her that option may look like leniency in the press, but, it isn't. It is just within the boundaries of what is available to everyone in those circumstances.
