Concerts near austin tx??
where are the best venues at in or near austin?? I'd prefer places that actually show mainstream bands that I've actually heard of. Any links would be appreaciated.

The Backyard, which is a little outside of Austin has the biggest acts that come through town.
In town, the bigger (& more mainstream) venues are Stubb's, La Zona Rosa, Antone's, sometimes the Paramount theater, and spots on UT campus. You might also want to check out Emo's as a lot of good touring acts play there.
Plus there's also ACL Fest in September.
Although sometimes the best shows are the bands you've never heard of...
