Are the Spurs A Dynasty?!

Question:

Are the Spurs A Dynasty?

Here is my problem with saying they are...although i think they are a great organization and Timmy (with a great surrounding cast) is the only player to be there for all 4 championships...there has to be the same core group of players for me to consider it a dynasty...what do u think?

im not saying it has be the same exact roster, but Duncan is the ONLY one to be there for their 4...its not like it was only Jordan...it wasnt only Russel, or only Shaq, or Jeter for that matter...there was always a few guys that were there for their runs...

Answers:

A dynasty is an organization that sustains excellence over a period of time, not necessarily a core group of performers. Sustained success is often due to a common organizational philosophy which shapes the way the team is constructed and managed. Having a group of players who span a championship run is nice because it not only satisfies our need for logical connections, it makes for interesting sports discussions. Nonetheless, the same set of core players is not required for a team to be categorized as a dynasty.
