Selrf-teaching piano, need some tips please?!

Question:

Selrf-teaching piano, need some tips please?

I'm trying to teach myself the piano, been for 5 months now..
there's one major problem:
I can concentrate only on 1 hand, the right hand.. I can play rondo alla turca with the right hand only. I can also play a little part of moonlight sonata because it's very slow so I get to look at both hands..I know how to play with both hand because I have read some stuff about it, yet I find it hard as hell to play with both hand..

ANY tips would be appreciated.. Is there any hope for me?

Answers:

uurrm i don't know if i'll be much help, but i can try. keep going with it, one day it will actually just "click" and you'll be able to do it quite well, its just starting to balance and get the two hands together.
make sure you can play each part in each hand perfectly, and then try it sooo slowly together - if it helps, draw lines down on your music to show where notes should be played together, and do it a couple of bars at a time until you can do them, then go onto the next bit.

it can probably get quite tedious but it will pay off, when people say "practice makes perfect" its annoying but true. once you've got it together painfully slowly, then trying going a little faster. the lines on your music trick helped me.

good luck, and dont give up - one day it'll just come, its just getting to that stage that's hard.
