Do you feel that Mariah Carey uses her high octave range in a creative way?!

Question:

Do you feel that Mariah Carey uses her high octave range in a creative way?

I ask because is it because she has the ability and so she just does it or because it fits into that particular part of the song.

Answers:

MC used to sing in her high octaves alot when she first started in the music industry, it became a trait that set her apart from the other young singers at that time, so in other words she did it then, not b/c it fit into the song but b/c it made her more noticeable to the public; an example of this is her early songs "someday" and "vision of love" both of those songs are prime examples of her 'butterfly trademark' where she used it to boost album sales and set her apart from the rest of the female singers, both are also typical of work she did early on in her career ....in more recent years MC does seem to use her upper range b/c it fits into the song and b/c long time fans like to hear it once and awhile ;) An example of this would be near the end of the song "We belong together."
