Such an innocent face
Standing by the window
Hearing the phone ring
She goes and picks it up
Oh Hi! she says
Hearing the familiar voice
The voice she came to know
and love so very much
I think we should just be friends
Came the earth shattering blow
The innocence is gone
No more familiar voice to know
Okay I understand
She says, holding back the tears
I really am sorry he says
But she knows its just a lie
Such an innocent face
Standing by the window
Trying to understand
What the hell just happened
He says he has to go
She just hangs up on him
No more friendly goodbyes
The innocence is gone
