Guitar problems?!

Question:

Guitar problems?

Im new at guitar. And i just recently changed all the strings, for cleaning purposes. And now all the strings buzz or vibrate when you play them. And when i play the 12th fret(any string) no sound comes out, its completely dead noise.

P.s. I did in fact go from
D'Addario EXL120 Nickel Super Light Electric Guitar Strings
to
Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Pink Electric Guitar Strings

Answers:

I looked up the strings that you used and the guages are the same so that isn't your problem. I would say that you need to raise your bridge just enough to get to buzz off of the fretboard. This may be a "quick fix" because the symptoms you are describing sound like a warped neck. If raising the bridge doesn't solve the problem or your not comfortable with the action of the strings at the new height i would take the guitar to a local music store to a guitar tech and ask them to look at the neck and ask if it needed to be adjusted. This is a simple adjustment that they can do in a few minutes but I don't recommend someone who lacks the knowledge to attempt because it's easy to make the problem worse and they know what they are doing. It won't be expensive, no more than $20 unless they have to replace the strings then $5 more. Good luck!
